FACETS 2014

Facets was a collective exhibit showcasing artworks from Antonia Antwood, Anna Sheppard and Katie Bret-Day and their interpretations of Dissociative Identity Disorder: a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring personality states.
This work explores the illusive and osmotic manifestations of disociative identity disorder through the use of translucent materials, drifting figures and refernces to mri imaging. Through the use of direct to media printing the work was able to utilise the effect of plastic and mirror in order to assimilate the image of the viewer into the broken facets of the subject. Obscure reflections and fractured portraits complement the etherial percolation of multiple bodies into their singular soma, both striving to keep formation together and individualy melting away from themselves.
